I finally received the acceptance notice before my graduation. I am very grateful to the friends for giving me confidence. When I received the opinions requiring for major revision, I was almost desperate seeing those opinions, but I still carefully revised and submitted it. It took 7 months and the efforts were not in vain! The expert who mentioned in front that “I’m so happy that the article has been accepted. What I worry about now is not whether the article can be accepted, but whether the International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology (IJAMT) be kicked out of SCI before graduation, because the 40% self-citation rate is really worrying.” I also agree with this point. So, even if the editor required that “Please cite articles in this journal to show the relevance”, I will not deliberately cite the latest articles published on IJAMT, because citing articles within the last 2 years will cause self-citation rate. But from another perspective, at present, the impact factors of SCI journals such as machining and manufacturing are rising, and the contribution of IJAMT is not excluded or ignored. Therefore, I personally think that it is less likely to be kicked out. Anyway, I fell that many authors in order to please the editor, they have cited too many articles published on IJAMT, causing the self-citation to be too high and being kicked.
