When I received the opinions requiring for major revision, I was almost desperate seeing those opinions, but I still carefully revised and submitted it. What I worry about now is not whether the article can be accepted, but whether the International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology (IJAMT) be kicked out of SCI before graduation, because the 40% self-citation rate is really worrying.” I also agree with this point. So, even if the editor required that “Please cite articles in this journal to show the relevance”, I will not deliberately cite the latest articles published on IJAMT, because citing articles within the last 2 years will cause self-citation rate. But from another perspective, at present, the impact factors of SCI journals such as machining and manufacturing are rising, and the contribution of IJAMT is not excluded or ignored. Therefore, I personally think that it is less likely to be kicked out. Anyway, I fell that many authors in order to please the editor, they have cited too many articles published on IJAMT, causing the self-citation to be too high and being kicked. It has been two months since graduation and the paper was accepted... I submitted it in mid-October last year, and my reviewer was quite fast, but once the paper was back for revisions, it was shelved for 3 months. The first time it was sent back for revisions, it sat there for three months without any progress until I followed up. It's really frustrating and time-consuming, so it's best to allow at least a year for the entire submission process.
