Therefore, I recommend that you should read the articles published in this journal recently before submission, such as interactive analysis, differences between two years, etc. If these contents are missing, the editor-in-chief will require a major revision directly and ask the author to add those contents, so as mine. The article was submitted in February, and accepted on Teacher’s Day on September 10; it took 6 months, it was neither fast nor slow.

Agronomy Journal. This journal is really fast, the reviewers’ comments are pertinent and detailed, associate editor (AE) is very nice, and the processing efficiency is very high. The following is the detailed submission experience: 2019-11-19 submission; 2019-12-18 major revision 1: the first reviewer had a sharp opinion, saying that there was no repetition in multi-ecological sites (this is not my focus and does not affect the results), and directly negate the entire experiment. Reviewers 2 and 3 had pertinent and detailed comments, which improved the level of the article. 2019-12-23 major revision 1 was resubmitted: we seriously responded to every question of the reviewer. 2020-1-6 major revision 2: in fact, the reviewer had no comments, but AE helped modifying the format and suggested some minor revisions. 2020-1-6 major revision 2 was resubmitted; 2020-1-7 accepted. This is very fast. It only took one and a half months from submission to acceptance. It was a little luck, but it is especially important to revise it carefully and timely.

This is a classic agricultural cultivation journal. Honestly, I don’t know how the impact factor can go up. I feel like most of the high impact journals are ones that publish studies on molecules, microorganisms and the environment. Here’s my submission experience for reference: submitted to the Agronomy Journal on 12/10/2015. Received my first round of revisions on 2/26/2016, completed the revisions and re-submitted on 3/10/2016. I received the second round of revisions on 4/11/2016 and my manuscript was accepted on 5/4/2016.

Take a look at the annual publication volume and the length of establishment, the long-standing journal of the American Agricultural Society, with responsible editors and reviewers, but unfortunately it is not highly ranked. Well-recognized journal in the industry. Overall, the review process is strict and the cycle is slightly long. The reviewers and journal editors are very diligent and responsible. Although it is a 3rd-tier journal, the quality of the article greatly improved after three rounds of careful revisions by the reviewers (5 in total), and I gained a lot personally.

Submitted on December 3, 2021.
First major revision on March 10, 2022: Three reviewers in total, all very strict, provided comments and questions regarding experimental design, methods, data analysis, conclusions, etc. One reviewer questioned the accuracy of the experimental method.

First major revision returned on May 29, 2022: Carefully replied to each question from the reviewers and made revisions according to their suggestions. Conducted validation experiments. Due to the impact of the pandemic, the revision time was longer, so I explained the situation to the editor in advance and applied for an extension.

Second major revision on July 3, 2022: Two new reviewers this time, mainly provided revision suggestions and questions regarding language and writing aspects.

Second major revision returned on July 31, 2022: Carefully replied to every question and made revisions according to the suggested changes.

Third revision (minor revision) on January 30, 2023: The reviewers had almost no major issues, and I made detailed revisions on language-related details. (The review period from the second to the third revision was longer, but I received a quick response after reminding them at the end of January.)
