The article was submitted in January, and the review comments were returned in March. The revised manuscript was submitted in a month. And one more month later, the comments on the second revision was returned. The notice of acceptance was received in June, and it was published in late August and early September.

Hello, I would like to ask a question. The manuscript was received on 30-Sep-2024 and is currently awaiting referee reports as of 05-Oct-2024. There have been no changes in status. Between the manuscript being received and awaiting referee reports, there have been no status updates such as technical review or editor assignment. It has been exactly two weeks now. I have never submitted to an IOP journal before, so I am unsure if the current status of the manuscript being sent for external review is equivalent to "under review" or if it has been rejected at the editorial desk. Can anyone knowledgeable provide some guidance on this?

The current status has not changed, from manuscript received to ARR there is no technical review, assigned editor or other status update in between. It has been exactly two weeks now. Submission in August;
After returning from a major revision at the end of October, I initially found one reviewer, with a gap of two to three weeks in between. I had emailed the editor inquiring and was informed that the second reviewer was being sought. Once found, the major revision was returned in about two to three weeks.
The major revision took 1 and a half months, and was returned a week before the deadline, in early December.
The second round of review took about three weeks, and acceptance was in early January;
Around a week for proofreading, and another slightly over a week for publication.
The efficiency of the journal as a whole is very high, with careful and clear reviewing process, and a very fast publishing process.
Despite the not-so-high rating in the field of biomaterials, it is fortunate to be included in the school's directory. Last year's submission was delayed, and BMM saved me from the brink of unemployment. Thanks to the journal and the editor!

December submission, just in time for Christmas, delayed a bit. Only received the initial review comments in February. Both reviewers recommended major revisions, and their suggestions were very professional. Was given a month and a half to make the revisions, including the winter vacation period. Applied for an additional month extension to revise. Re-submitted at the end of April. Received acceptance notification in about 10 days. Now just waiting to be published! The editor of this journal is very responsible, and the reviewers are also very nice. I recommend students with relevant research to try submitting! ^-^
