The global scholarly event, Peer Review Week, returned for another year to bring together researchers, publishers, editors, and others to share insights on the topic of peer review. This year’s Peer Review Week took place from September 15–19 with the theme of “Rethinking Peer Review in the AI Era”. Participating organizations hosted a variety of events and workshops that highlighted the conversations about artificial intelligence and its reshaping of the scholarly communications landscape.
Here are a few of this year’s highlights:
• A LinkedIn webinar on which Peer Review tool is the best for you, hosted by Sci-Train
• A blog post on fighting paper mills, fake reviewers, and fraud, written by HireWire Press.
• A panel discussion hosted by the Asian Council of Science Editors on AI in Peer Review, is it a game changer, or a governance challenge?
• An Editage-hosted podcast featuring Lucy Threadgold of Emerald Publishing. She discussed how AI is reshaping the Peer Review process, from reviewer engagement to fairness.
